With the morning sun and views over to the Wairere Falls, The Swan Room is spacious, stylish and comfortable.
ArtHouse is full of art treasures - paintings, glass and sculpture in the guest rooms and also throughout the property to create a truly authentic and unique bed & beakfrast experience. Both Sallys Room and The Swan Room have king size beds complete with en-suite bathrooms. Our Peony room has a super king bed (convertible to twin on request) with an exclusive private bathroom across the hall. Each guest room has free Wi fi access, TV and high quality bed linen, electric blankets and under-tile heating in the bathrooms. Whichever room you choose, you can be assured of a sumptuous breakfast served in the Breakfast nook overlooking cow paddocks with Mt. Te Aroha in the distance. Please note that ArtHouse B&B is not suitable for infants or children under 12 years of age. All of the property is smoke-free – indoors and outdoors. And sorry, no pets although Roxy, our black cat does live here!
We have chosen prominent Canterbury artists to theme our ArtHouse guest rooms. Our largest room, The Swan Room gets the early morning sun and has views of the Wairere Falls. It has a generous walk in shower and features lovely soft watercolours by Ruth Killoran and a bird painting by Galina Kim. Sallys Room is also en-suited and features lively watercolours by the late Sally Powell and is decorated in bold blues and corals. The room overlooks the Burgundy Garden; planted with Burgundy Iceberg Roses, Lavenders, Burgundy Hydrangeas and Buxus with lovely views of the setting sun over the Richmond Hills. And the aptly named Peony Room features a stunning Peony painting by Ukraine trained Galina Kim. This room also overlooks the same garden as Sallys room with views of the setting sun as well. Peony Room guests have the sole use of a private bathroom across the hall.
